FAQs: NCAA Claim Sale Process
Everything you need to know about verifying your claim, completing your sale, and getting paid.
Selling your NCAA settlement claim doesn't have to be complicated, but there are some things that we can't change. Not sure about a step or why we ask for what we do? Here is some additional information that might help.
Any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact us - we are here to help!
Step 1: Complete Your Claim Information Form
This form gives us the information needed to review your NCAA settlement claim and determine an accurate offer.
Complete Your Claim Information FormYour NCAA settlement claim may be based on several factors, including which schools you attended, which sports you played, and when you participated.
We ask for your complete athletic history to help confirm your claim information and make sure we are reviewing the correct details.
What you'll need:
Names of all colleges or universities where you participated in athletics.
Sports you played at each school.
Years or seasons you participated.
Tip: If you transferred schools, make sure to include every school where you participated.
We need to confirm that you are the person who owns the claim.
This is an important security measure that helps protect claim sellers from fraud and unauthorized transactions.
Accepted forms of ID include:
Driver's license
State-issued photo ID
Passport
Make sure your ID is valid and the photo and information are easy to read.
Proof of address helps us verify your identity and confirm your current residential information.
This is part of our identity verification and compliance process.
What documents can I use?
We generally request two different documents showing your full name and current address, dated within the last three months.
Examples include:
Bank or credit card statement
Utility bill
Phone or internet bill
Pay stub
Lease or rental statement
Good to know: If your current address matches the address on your photo ID, you may only need one additional proof of address.
PDF documents are preferred, but clear photos or screenshots may also be accepted.
That's okay! We need to verify where you currently live, even if it is different from the address on your claim or photo ID.
Let your Xclaim specialist know if you recently moved or are having trouble finding documents with your new address.
Step 2: Verify Your Identity & Payment Information
We use a secure, third-party identity verification process to help protect your information and prepare your payment.
Start Secure Identity VerificationEven if you already uploaded your photo ID, this additional verification helps confirm that you are the person submitting the information.
It is an important step in preventing fraud and protecting claim sellers.
You may be asked to:
Take a picture of your government-issued ID.
Take a selfie to confirm your identity.
Confirm some basic personal information.
We collect your banking details so we can send your payment directly to your bank account after your claim sale is completed.
You will need:
Your bank's name.
Your bank account number.
Your bank's domestic wire routing number.
Some banks use different routing numbers for regular electronic transfers (ACH) and wire transfers.
We need your domestic wire routing number, which may not be the number shown on your checks or in your direct deposit information.
You can usually find this in your bank's app or website, or by contacting your bank.
Using the wrong routing number could delay your payment.
Your identity verification is completed through a secure third-party verification service.
For your protection, use the secure verification link to submit sensitive information rather than sending banking details through regular email or text messages.
Step 3: Provide Your Official NCAA Claim ID & PIN
Your Claim ID and PIN are unique identifiers associated with your NCAA settlement claim.
Send to: ncaa@x-claim.comThese numbers help us identify and verify your official settlement claim.
We use them as part of the claim review process to confirm that we are working with the correct claim before completing a transaction.
Your Claim ID and PIN may be included in emails or official communications from the NCAA settlement administrator.
Here's how to look for them:
Open the email account you used when filing your NCAA settlement claim.
Search for emails related to the NCAA settlement, settlement administrator, Claim ID, or PIN.
Look for an official message containing your unique claim information.
Forward the original email to ncaa@x-claim.com.
You can also send clear screenshots showing both numbers.
You can visit the official settlement administrator's claimant portal:
NCAA Settlement Claimant Portal
Follow the portal's instructions to access your claim information.
Don't worry. This is a common question.
Let your Xclaim specialist know, and we'll help you identify the next steps for locating or recovering your claim information.
Security reminder: Only share your Claim ID and PIN through the approved Xclaim process. Never share passwords for your personal email or bank accounts.
Step 4: Verify Your NCAA Athletic Eligibility
We need documentation confirming your history as an NCAA student-athlete.
Send to: ncaa@x-claim.comYour eligibility documentation helps us confirm your athletic participation and verify information associated with your settlement claim.
This provides an additional layer of verification before we complete the sale.
Our preferred method is a screenshot of your NCAA Eligibility Center account.
Here's what to do:
Visit NCAA Eligibility Center.
Log in to your account.
Find the page displaying your eligibility or registration information.
Take a clear screenshot that includes your information and the website address (URL).
Email the screenshot to ncaa@x-claim.com.
That's okay. You may be able to provide another official document.
Other acceptable options include:
National Letter of Intent (NLI): Your official college athletic signing document.
NCAA eligibility email: An official message confirming your eligibility or registration.
School athletic compliance email: An email from your school's athletic compliance department confirming your participation or eligibility.
Contact your Xclaim specialist.
We can help you determine which alternative documents may be appropriate or what steps you can take to obtain the required confirmation.
General Questions About Selling Your NCAA Claim
No. Submitting your information or requesting a quote does not automatically mean you've agreed to sell your claim.
You can review your offer before deciding whether to proceed. Your sale is not finalized simply because you completed the information and verification steps.
We understand that providing personal information can feel overwhelming.
Because NCAA settlement claims involve financial rights and potentially significant payments, we need to verify the identity of the seller, the claim being sold, and the information needed to process the transaction.
These steps help:
Protect you against fraud.
Confirm that you own the claim.
Verify the claim details.
Meet applicable compliance requirements.
Prevent payment errors and unnecessary delays.
Our goal is to collect the necessary information once, review it promptly, and make the process as smooth as possible.
We recommend starting with the Claim Information Form, but you can work on gathering the other documents while your claim is being reviewed.
If you're missing something, let your Xclaim specialist know rather than waiting to submit everything.
Once we have the required information, our team will review your documents and confirm whether anything else is needed.
When your claim is approved for sale, you'll receive a claim sale agreement to review and sign.
The general process is:
Submit your information: Provide your claim details and required documents.
Claim review: Our team verifies your information and confirms the transaction details.
Review your agreement: You'll have the opportunity to review the final terms before signing.
Sign your agreement: If you decide to proceed, complete the claim sale agreement.
Receive your payment: After your completed agreement is accepted and the transaction is finalized, your payment is processed.
At Xclaim, 100% of the thousands of claim sellers who have completed sales through our platform have been paid within one business day after signing their claim sale agreement, based on our historical payment record.
We work to make the process as fast as possible, although the time needed to verify your claim and complete the requirements can vary.
Yes! If you requested a quote previously but haven't sold your claim, you can submit updated information for a new review.
